That’s a Wrap on Another Snow Season

Congratulations to all on closing out another successful ski season!

This was a season unlike any other in recent memory, perhaps any memory, and it was great to see how industry adapted to continue providing guests with incredible experiences in the face of a global pandemic. Three cheers to all of you! My fingers are crossed that next snow season will see a return to “normal” operations.

Writer Aaron Broverman spoke with Purgatory Resort for this issue’s Resort Profile to learn how the Covid-19 pandemic was affecting their winter operations and how the resort was overcoming the challenges brought on by the pandemic.

I’d like to say a big thank you to all of the original equipment manufacturers who participated in the 2021 SnowOps Equipment Comparison Guide. This year we have added new categories and we see the return of a couple others. I know there was some confusion last year, so I want to remind everyone, the SnowOps Buyer’s Guide is now exclusively housed year-round on our website. Interested in getting your company on the Buyer’s Guide? Contact a SnowOps sales representative for more information.

No doubt, summerizing maintenance is taking place across North America as snowcats are prepared for their summer hibernation. We caught up with the makers of Lif-Track to discuss their latest release, the third generation of their equipment lift. Learn more about this product, built for the snow operations industry.

Learn about the conveyor lifts Italy-based Team Service provides for industry. With three conveyor models to choose from, there is sure to be a lift for your area! The company also provides assisted loading systems for chairlifts, and their systems can be found in use around the world.

We’re still on the lookout for snowmobile club volunteers. If your club has a dedicated volunteer who goes above and beyond each season that you feel deserves some special recognition, drop me a line. We have something special in the works.

A sincere thank you goes to Neil Robertson who provided this issue’s cover photo. He captured the beautiful image at Hlidarfjall, North Iceland, while volunteering during their busy season.

Don’t forget you can reach out at any time if you have comments on this issue or topics you would like to see covered in future issues. If you haven’t already, be sure to like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. I hope you enjoy this issue!
