Safety Matters

Happy New Year to all of our SnowOps readers! I'm looking forward to beginning another year of issues for you

Remember that International Snowmobile Safety Week is Jan. 20 to 28; Read for more information on organizing an event for your club or association.

I recently read an article in the NSAA Journal and immediately reached out to the NSAA to ask if I could reprint it here for SnowOps readers. Learn more about the important #RideAnotherDay industry safety initiative, inspired by one family’s tragedy when their five-year-old daughter was killed on a ski hill by an out-of-control snowboarder. It’s a heartbreaking story, but the family is adamant to bring something positive out of their ordeal and launched this safety initiative together with the NSAA. Read their story and find out how to get involved.

In this issue, you’ll also read about TechnoAlpin’s snowmaking for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. The company has confidently guaranteed that there will be snow for the Games, and has outperformed at test events leading up to the Olympics. Read more about their strategy.

As you know, the April issue of SnowOps is fast approaching, and with it, the 2018 Equipment Comparison Guide.

Lastly, this is my final editor’s message in SnowOps magazine, as I will be handing the reigns over to a new editor beginning with the April edition and taking on a more behind-the-scenes role as publisher. Thanks for hanging out with me!

Enjoy the snow!
